ETHNOGRAPHIC AUDIOVISUAL DOCUMENTATION

We document the life and traditions of communities to create a living archive that reflects their identity and way of life.

This service focuses on creating a visual and sound record of current social, cultural and community practices. Through the collection of oral testimonies, videos and photographs , we document expressions of daily life, festivals, customs, and other significant events as well as the activity of groups and entities. The objective is to build an archive that serves to preserve living memory and provide a detailed ethnographic vision of the dynamics that shape the identity of a territory or social group .

Because understanding and communicating the identities of a territory (…) is essential to managing the present and living together in diversity.

Objectives

· Create an audiovisual and graphic record of current social and cultural life through direct ethnographic work.
· Document social practices and processes with an impartial and detailed look, preserving the cultural and social diversity of the present.
· Provide materials for archives and dissemination that serve as resources for institutions, social entities and educational programs.
· Guarantee the preservation of community memories through the collection and archiving of oral testimonies and visual materials.

Process

1. Compilation of audiovisual materials.

Videos, photographs and sound recordings (oral testimonies, conversations, activities) are collected through ethnographic fieldwork. This may include recordings of local festivals, customs, social events, and other community practices.

2. Ethnographic documentation methods.

Techniques specific to anthropology are used to capture the current reality of a place, maintaining an impartial and observational view. The recordings not only include visual images, but also oral testimonies that provide personal perspectives and individual narratives about social and cultural processes.

3.Archiving and cataloguing.

The collected materials are processed and organized so that they are useful as an archive for institutions, social organizations, or community projects. The result is a set of useful materials for future studies, exhibitions or dissemination through social and digital media.

4.Creation of resources for dissemination.

Apart from the creation of archival materials, the materials can also be used for dissemination projects, such as exhibitions, documentaries, or resources for social and cultural education. This can be useful for cultural institutions, educational entities, community associations, among others.
